Kent is looking for a Piping Principal Engineer, to support ongoing projects.

Kent is seeking a highly experienced and technically authoritative Piping Principal Engineer to lead and support ongoing, complex industrial projects. The ideal candidate will serve as the technical backbone for piping stress analysis, material specification, and mechanical integrity, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant engineering deliverables. Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Design Preparation: Prepare and review designs (documents and plans) and incorporate comments, according to specific requests from the Engineering and Projects area, using the software and office package and standards, to comply with the requirements of each discipline.
  • Planning and Execution: Plan and supervise the execution of each project, defining the scope, applicable standards and assigning priorities to the work group to comply with the Detailed Work Plan (PDT) and the project's man hours.
  • Preparation of Bids: Be able to define, as necessary, the estimation of resources, through knowledge and experience of projects, to obtain a proposal that meets the client's requirements.
  • Technical Quality Management in deliverables: Use the tools and methods established by the company, for the quality control of the deliverables, according to the specialty to which it is assigned, using the standards and control schemes that have been defined, in order to guarantee that in all projects the Quality and Compliance parameters defined in the Quality Plan of each project and in the Promise of Value.
  • Performance monitoring: Track and record man-hour consumption per deliverable/activity within the corporate management system to ensure project profitability and on-time delivery.
  • Support in Technical Queries from Clients: Respond to technical queries made by the client, interacting in formal and periodic meetings, to adequately resolve concerns and identify possible changes in scope or rework that require the immediate application of change control actions.
  • In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Professional in Mechanical or Mechatronics, Engineering.
  • Desirable Specialization according to the specialty.
  • Intermediate/Advanced English is desirable.
  • Advanced management of both static and dynamic modules within CAESAR II.
  • Proficient in using NozzlePRO (or Paulin Research Group tools) to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on nozzles, clips, saddles, trunnions, and pipe intersections.
  • Static-dynamic stress and flexibility analysis of piping systems for transportation, treatment, refining of crude oil, its derivatives and accompanying fluids under standards and codes (ASME, API, WRC), including Modal analysis and water hammer in CAESAR II with interpretation of results.
  • Interpretation of ASME code B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 (Section - Stress and/or flexibility calculation).
  • Strong expertise in establishing critical line selection criteria for formal stress analysis.
  • Workshare projects experience at least 8 years.
  • Proficient in verifying and qualifying allowable nozzle loads on static and rotating equipment in strict accordance with API, NEMA, and WRC (e.g., WRC 107/297/537) standards.
  • Expert-level capability in defining, calculating, and reporting piping structural loads (anchors, guides, supports) to the Civil/Structural engineering team.
  • Modelling and analysis of flow lines as per ASME B31.4
  • Expertise in the selection, design, and technical specification of auxiliary pipe supports, expansion joints, and variable/constant spring hangers, including the elaboration of formal datasheets for procurement.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a field flexibility analyst desirable.

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the Spanish and English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

Behaviour/ Core Competencies:

  • Experience and participation in the different phases of design, assembly, commissioning, consulting and/or auditing of projects for the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Experience according to your specialty.
