Lead Frontend Developer
Summary
Lead the design of reusable frontend platforms, SDKs, and developer tooling using TypeScript and Node.js. You will optimize build systems and performance for web apps and HTML5 games within an IT consulting firm.
Our client is a well-established IT consulting company headquartered in Singapore with a strong portfolio of long-term enterprise and gaming clients across the region. Backed by stable business growth and recurring projects, they are expanding their engineering team to build scalable platform technologies for next-generation web applications and HTML5 games.
As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building reusable frontend platforms, SDKs, frameworks and developer tooling that enable multiple engineering teams to deliver products faster with consistent quality and performance.
What You'll Be Doing Platform Architecture Lead the design and evolution of reusable frontend platform architecture supporting multiple web applications and HTML5 game projects. Design modular runtime frameworks, plugin systems and shared libraries with clear dependency management, lifecycle control and configuration management. Define platform standards covering API design, version compatibility and upgrade strategies across multiple downstream projects.
SDK, Build & Developer Tooling Build and maintain internal frontend SDKs and shared libraries using modern multi-package and monorepo architectures. Design automated release pipelines including package publishing, version management, changelog generation and CI/CD validation. Own frontend build systems using Rollup, Vite or Webpack. Continuously optimize bundle size, tree-shaking, code splitting, lazy loading and application startup performance.
AI-Native Engineering We believe AI is becoming an essential part of modern software engineering. You will be encouraged to: Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar) to improve development efficiency. Explore AI-driven workflows for code generation, documentation, testing and release automation. Evaluate opportunities to incorporate AI into engineering tooling and developer experience. Promote AI-native engineering practices while maintaining high standards of code quality and software design.
Requirement Extensive experience with
TypeScript ,
JavaScript (ES6+)
and
Node.js . Proven experience designing reusable frontend SDKs, frameworks or platform libraries used across multiple projects. Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture and modular application design. Hands-on experience with: Rollup, Vite or Webpack Monorepo / Workspace management npm package publishing CI/CD pipelines Git-based development workflows Experience designing plugin-based or modular software architectures. Strong knowledge of frontend performance optimisation, including bundle optimisation, lazy loading, caching strategies and runtime performance. Experience profiling and troubleshooting performance issues on mobile web applications. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple engineering teams. Mandarin is required due to the need to communicate with Mandarin speaking clients and counterparts
