Lead Full Stack Developer
We are seeking an innovative Lead Full Stack Developer (Angular, Node.js & AWS) to drive the engineering and architectural direction of our next-generation digital banking platforms. In this role, you will lead a high-performing squad of software engineers to design, build, and deploy secure, resilient, and intelligent enterprise applications.
About the Role
You will combine hands-on full stack development using Angular and Node.js with modern AWS Serverless architecture (Lambda) while integrating AI capabilities (LLM orchestrations, RAG pipelines, predictive models) directly into consumer-facing and back-office banking workflows.
Responsibilities
- Engineering & AI Leadership: Provide technical direction, architectural oversight, and code reviews for a multi-disciplinary team. Mentor engineers on cloud patterns and modern AI development best practices.
- Full stack & AI Delivery: Build modern web applications using Angular, Node.js microservices, and serverless architectures. Implement intelligent features using AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, or enterprise LLM APIs.
- Cloud Architecture: Drive adoption of event-driven and serverless patterns on AWS, heavily utilizing AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, and AWS Bedrock.
- Enterprise Security & Responsible AI: Ensure solutions strictly comply with Canadian banking regulations (OSFI standards), enterprise security, data privacy, and ethical/responsible AI governance frameworks.
- CI/CD & MLOps/LLMOps: Establish and refine CI/CD automated deployment pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) and support model evaluation/monitoring deployment workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Data Science, Product Owners, Solutions Architects, and Cyber Security teams to translate AI and feature requirements into production-ready software.
Qualifications
- Experience: 6+ years of software development experience, with at least 2–3 years in a technical lead role. Prior experience in a Canadian Big 5 Bank, Fintech, or enterprise financial environment is strongly preferred.
- AI & LLM Integration: Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Machine Learning services into web applications (e.g., AWS Bedrock, OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or RAG architecture).
- Frontend Expertise: Expert-level mastery of Angular (v12+), TypeScript, RxJS, and modern state management strategies.
- Backend Expertise: Deep experience with Node.js building scalable microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
- AWS & Serverless: Extensive expertise with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and serverless architectural frameworks.
- DevOps & IaC: Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK, Terraform).
- Communication: Exceptional ability to explain complex technical and AI concepts clearly to non-technical business stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred Skills
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Generative AI/Machine Learning Specialist.
- Practical knowledge of vector databases (e.g., Amazon OpenSearch, Pinecone, pgvector) for RAG implementations.
