The team 🧑🤝🧑
You will join the People team as Lead People Ops, based in our Paris office, reporting directly to Aurore (Deputy CEO and Chief Transformation Officer).
Who is the People team?
Andrea, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, anime aficionado; she has the best recommendations!
Misbah, Expert Talent Acquisition Specialist, trying to convert the team to matchas
Iman, Senior HR Project Manager and Fashion Guru
Laetitia, Senior People Ops, currently on maternity leave, our foodie who knows the best places in town!
Aurore, CTO, 15-year boxer. Knocks out deadlines, not morale!
You'll work hand-in-hand with our People Ops Specialist and apprentice on the operational side, and closely with our HRBP, Talent Acquisition, and Finance teams.
Team goals 🎯
The People Ops team makes sure HR operations run flawlessly across all our entities: processes are reliable and constantly improved, our HR data is accurate and trustworthy in our HRIS, and every activity has clear objectives, an owner, and measurable KPIs, so the team focuses its energy where it has the most impact.
Your responsibilities 🖋️
Define, manage, and improve our HR processes (~60%)
Make sure HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, contracts, payroll, personnel administration, ticket management) run error-free and on time
Regularly audit and optimise these processes
Example activities: map existing processes, test and roll out new tools or automations, retire processes that are no longer useful or too complex, renegotiate or evolve vendor contracts.
Own our HRIS (~20%)
Ensure People data (HR, payroll, administrative) is reliable, up to date and accessible to whoever needs it to deliver
Example activities: regularly audit the reliability and completeness of HR/payroll data in Lucca, structure user access and permissions, run high-ROI campaigns.
Pilot the performance of the People Ops activity (~10%)
Make sure every activity has clear objectives, an owner and clear KPIs, and that performance keeps improving over time
Concentrate resources and effort on the highest-impact activities
Example activities: arbitrate priorities and resource allocation based on business impact.
Lead and grow the People Ops team (~10%)
Set clear expectations, build a collaboration framework and team rituals
Evaluate and grow your team's talent through regular feedback
Drive continuous improvement of working methods, and lead by example on UpSlide's values and behaviours
Your goals ⚡
In your first 3 months, you will understand and optimise/kill what already exists:
Map the key HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, contracts, payroll, tickets) and diagnose what to simplify, optimise, or kill
Get the most out of Lucca, so it becomes our single source of truth, with as many processes/workflows/campaigns managed there as possible
Set up a first steering framework defining the standards of excellence for the function
Secure the run: zero payroll or administrative incidents during your onboarding period
By 6 months, you will show a first measurable impact on the 3 pillars of this role:
Processes rebuilt, killed, or simplified with a demonstrated gain in time or reliability
100% reliable HR data on at least the key scopes (contracts, absences, onboarding/offboarding)
A simple dashboard in place, tracked monthly, showing the progress of 2-3 Ops KPIs
Vendors or tools challenged/renegotiated
At UpSlide, we have a career path to help you grow.
You are a great fit if you have:
A first successful experience within a People team, ideally in a fast-growing tech company (7 years exp min)
A solid understanding of People Ops models in France and internationally
A genuine appetite for HR tools and AI, with a drive to push automation to free up time for higher value-add work
Strong skills in Excel
Both a tactical and strategic mindset: comfortable in day-to-day operations while keeping the bigger picture in view
A minimum C1 level of English and French
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
If you have never managed a team, we will give you all the keys to make sure you become a successful manager through training and mentoring.
Hybrid work: 3 days per week in our Paris office.
We'd love it if:
You have already managed internal pay
✨ If you don't tick all the boxes but you think you'd be a great fit, please apply and tell us why.
Recruitment process
Pre-qualification interview with Misbah (Talent Acquisition) to make sure our goals match!
This interview will be followed by a short at-home task to test your Excel skills
HR interview with Fanny (HRBP): we'll assess your rigour, reliability, ability to ramp up quickly, and ease with tools and AI through a structured interview based on concrete scenarios
Live use case: ticket triage, with Seghara (Freelance People Ops) and Anne (CFO): we'll give you a batch of fictional employee tickets/requests (a mix of administrative, payroll, and benefits topics) and ask you to prioritise them, draft a response (with or without AI), and flag the ones that need escalation.
Fit interview with our Chief Transformation Officer: we'll validate your alignment with our expected posture and your fit with the existing team.
🚀 We'll conduct a reference check to learn how to help you thrive!
