Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Project Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake and Data Engineering to lead development and support activities. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in data ingestion, data integration, medallion architecture, data governance, and building unified data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data solutions using Snowflake, with a focus on scalable and efficient data architecture.
• Develop data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using APIs, streams, database synchronization tools, and other integration methods.
• Implement Medallion Architecture, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers, with appropriate storage and data models.
• Develop data integration solutions and create unified datasets for business consumption.
• Establish data governance practices, including data quality rules, security, and access controls.
• Enable business users and downstream applications to access and consume data efficiently.
• Support data consumers by developing data models and datasets for Power BI and other reporting requirements across HR, Finance, and other functions.
• Lead a team of 15 engineers across development and support projects.
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
• Use Jira for task creation, tracking, and sprint coordination, following Agile methodologies.
• Maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and project-related information using Confluence.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering and Technology, including at least 4 years in Senior Data Engineering roles.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience working with Snowflake, with the last 2+ years focused on Snowflake-based projects.
• Experience leading at least one project in a technical lead capacity.
• Strong experience in data ingestion and integration from multiple sources such as Workday, PeopleSoft, GIS, SQL Server, and other enterprise systems.
• Demonstrable experience in developing and supporting Snowflake-based data solutions.
• Hands-on understanding of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers).
• Experience in data governance, data quality management, and data security.
• Experience supporting data consumers and developing datasets/models for BI and reporting tools.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
• Proven experience leading a small team of 1–5 members.
