Mission
of the Role
Strengthen
Pakka’s molded fiber foodservice disposables portfolio with innovative SKUs,
superior performance, and circular design principles to capture market
leadership in foodservice packaging.
Key
Responsibilities & Skills
1. Lead
product development by creating innovative SKUs such as clamshells, bowls, and
trays tailored for QSR and catering applications, enhancing structure, barrier
performance, and shelf life to expand the portfolio in line with market needs.
2. Engineer
optimized fiber blends focused on strength, surface finish, and lightweight
performance, integrating coating and treatment strategies to improve barrier
properties while reducing material weight without compromising quality.
3. Collaborate
with tooling and mould design teams to enhance cavity configurations for higher
yield, faster cycle times, and reduced defects, ensuring efficient
manufacturability with consistent quality outcomes.
4. Develop
and execute robust testing protocols covering heat, oil, and liquid resistance,
simulate real-use performance, and ensure compliance with global compostability
and safety standards.
5. Drive
continuous process improvements in forming, pulp preparation, and drying lines
to boost throughput, reduce rejects, and improve operational efficiency across
production setups.
6. Conduct
global market benchmarking to identify innovation gaps and unmet customer
needs, translate insights into product priorities, and partner with commercial
teams to support go-to-market initiatives through technical data and
prototypes.
7. Embed
sustainability and circularity principles by ensuring compostability
certification, reducing water and chemical consumption, and integrating
internal waste streams and alternative fibers into next-generation product
designs.
Education
Master’s or
Ph.D. degree in one of the following fields:
- Packaging Technology
- Polymer Science / Polymer
Chemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Materials Science
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in
product development, fiber engineering, or packaging R&D, preferably
in molded fiber, paper, or compostable packaging.
- Proven track record of launching
high-performance SKUs for QSR, institutional, or FMCG segments.
- Hands-on experience with fiber
blends, tooling/mould design, and performance testing of disposable
packaging.
- Experience in process
optimization, structural integrity improvement, and sustainability
certifications.
Skills
- Optimize fibers for strength,
finish, and lightweight performance.
- Develop high-performance
disposable SKUs (clamshells, bowls, trays).
- Enhance tooling, mould design,
and ensure real-use performance.
- Drive sustainability and
compostable, circular product solutions.
