Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 per year

About the role
We're looking for a strong senior, back-end focused engineer. Our stack is predominantly TypeScript/Node, and you'll be working with us on many different elements of our platform, from:
integrating AI into our broker platform,
building out our APIs and corresponding SDKs, and integrating with commercial partners,
dabbling in our Electron-based desktop application and (React) web application,
working on UI automation over websockets / CDP,
changing our event-driven durable execution pipelines (Inngest),
provisioning infrastructure across Cloudflare and AWS
Being a small team, we're used to jumping on all ends of the stack to tackle our priorities effectively, and we don't tend to have static, pigeon-holed responsibilities.
We make heavy use of AI to write code at Financeable, and our team have experience across multiple harnesses including Claude/Codex/Amp/Cursor/OpenCode etc, we're looking for similarly curious engineers with opinions about the tools they use.
You should have:
5+ years experience as a developer
Extensive experience working with TypeScript, knowledge of other languages like Go greatly appreciated.
Knowledge of observability tools, vendors and ecosystem. We utilise Honeycomb.io, but knowledge of OTEL generally is highly regarded.
Infrastructure-as-code experience is a must - we provision application infrastructure exclusively via IAC. We utilise a mixture of Serverless Stack and Alchemy, across AWS and Cloudflare.
Experience and knowledge regarding API management (versioning, documentation) is a plus.
Nice to have:
Experience working in Finance/Banking
Experience working with distributed/remote teams
Experience with feature toggling
Knowledge of emerging trends like Local First, Durable Compute, LLMs generally.
Domain Driven Design knowledge is appreciated but not essential.
Opinionated about error handling: do you prefer treating errors as values or throwing exceptions? How do you ensure your error output meets your API spec?
