Lead Software Engineer
Description
Own the reliability of a mission-critical trading and capital markets platform handling real-time market data, transactions, and portfolio systems. You will serve as the technical anchor and final escalation point for backend stability. This role is focused on production excellence and platform ownership rather than feature delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Own L3/L4 escalation, root cause analysis, and post-incident hardening for backend and middleware systems.
- Define and uphold non-functional standards, including performance, throughput, high availability, fault tolerance, and backpressure handling.
- Design and support event-driven architecture using Golang, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Optimize SQL performance, indexing, partitioning, and low-latency caching.
- Drive observability and release discipline using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ClickHouse.
- Lead the structured takeover and incremental stabilization of vendor-built codebases.
- Mentor engineers in production debugging and distributed systems thinking.
Requirements:
- 6-8+ years of backend engineering experience with deep Golang expertise, including concurrency, runtime behavior, and memory profiling.
- Strong production Kafka knowledge, including consumer groups, rebalancing, offsets, and lag diagnostics.
- Proven experience in PostgreSQL performance tuning.
- Experience in fintech, trading, or transaction-heavy production environments.
- Hands-on incident handling experience and ownership of non-functional requirements.
Nice To Have:
- Experience with low-latency trading, exchange-integrated systems, or regulated systems.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, WebSockets, and streaming systems.
- Experience taking over and stabilizing vendor-built platforms.
