Lead UX Designer

We are looking for an experienced Lead UX Designer to join a cross-functional product team delivering user-centred digital solutions for citizens, businesses and government agencies.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible and impactful — from product discovery and user research through to design, prototyping and delivery.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineers and government stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment, while helping establish scalable design standards and systems across digital products.

1 Year Project Renewable under Agency's payroll.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor designers, providing design direction, feedback and quality assurance
• Establish and evolve design systems, component libraries and design standards
• Design intuitive and accessible digital experiences across the full product lifecycle
• Develop wireframes, high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes
• Conduct user research, usability testing and stakeholder interviews to validate design decisions
• Translate complex business and user requirements into simple, elegant experiences
• Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners and Developers during product delivery
• Ensure designs meet government accessibility requirements and design guidelines
• Participate in product reviews, sprint planning and retrospectives
• Use user feedback, product metrics and research findings to continuously improve experiences
• Support product discovery, design thinking and product roadmap discussions
• Contribute to scalable design systems and pattern libraries used across multiple products

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of UI/UX or Product Design experience, preferably within product teams
• At least 2 years of experience in a Lead / Senior Design role
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design and problem-solving
• Strong proficiency in Figma; experience with Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of user-centred design, responsive design and accessibility
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing and A/B testing
• Exposure to product analytics and using data to influence design decisions
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and awareness of technical constraints
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum product teams
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering and business stakeholders

Good to Have

• Experience designing government or public-sector digital products
• Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar product management tools
• Experience establishing or maintaining design systems and component libraries
• Knowledge of information architecture and data visualisation
• Familiarity with product analytics and data-driven design
• Experience with product discovery and design thinking methodologies
• Understanding of Singapore government digital design and accessibility standards
