Lecturer: Patisserie
The International Hotel School Benoni Campus is
searching for a Patisserie Lecturer. The purpose of this role is to teach and
share your passion for the culinary industry with eager young students; helping
them grow individually, and ultimately playing a role in their career paths and
success in life. This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience
reserved for only the most incredible people.
You will be responsible for:
- Conduct theory
lectures and kitchen pastry practical sessions
- Ensure a pass
rate of 85% and throughput rate of 90% is achieved
- Student tracking,
counselling and support
- Input towards
curriculum development and improvement
- Apply assessment
principles as per assessor code of conduct
- Industry time
and research
- Open day Sweet
Snacks
- Taking the lead
on all Competitions
- In charge of
Pastry Based Excursions for the students
Requirements
- Minimum NQF 5 qualification in the hospitality
industry
- City and Guilds Diploma in Food Prep and Cooking
& Patisserie
- CATHSSETA scoping – Unit 73292 is a requirement
- Assessors and Moderators certificate
- Certified to conduct outcome-based assessment
- Minimum 5 years Pastry experience
- Minimum 2 years lecturing / teaching/assessor
- Experience in a managerial position is
needed
