Legal Counsel
You will provide day-to-day legal advice to internal stakeholders on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters. You will advise on the design and roll-out of new products and cross-border business activities, including passporting arrangements and conduct of business rules. You will review, draft, and negotiate customer-facing and commercial agreements, disclosures, account documentation, and website materials. You will assist with regulatory inquiries from UK and EU authorities and exchanges, and liaise with external legal advisers.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to internal stakeholders
- Advise on design and roll-out of new products and cross-border activities, including passporting and conduct of business rules
- Review, draft and negotiate customer-facing contractual agreements, disclosures, account documentation and website materials
- Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements with institutional clients and counterparties
- Assist with regulatory inquiries from UK and EU regulatory authorities and exchanges
- Liaise with external legal advisers
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer (solicitor or barrister) with 3-5+ years of experience at a law firm, financial institution, regulatory agency, exchange, broker-dealer, or technology company
- Excellent academic background with a strong foundation in legal analysis and reasoning
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to outline complex matters concisely
- Excellent judgment and analytical rigor
- Demonstrated ability to own projects from concept to execution
- Practical, solution-oriented mindset with strong business judgment
- Comfort working with cross-functional, globally distributed teams
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in fintech, digital assets, and blockchain technology
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship for this role
