Lighting Designer
Ban Soon Heng Engineering Pte Ltd is looking for a Lighting Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be involved in lighting design, planning, calculations and preparation of technical drawings for various residential, commercial and other electrical projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare lighting design proposals, lighting layouts and technical drawings based on project requirements.
- Carry out lighting calculations and simulations using DIALux / DIALux evo.
- Prepare and revise lighting drawings using AutoCAD.
- Select and propose suitable lighting fixtures according to design requirements, lighting performance and project budget.
- Review architectural, interior design and electrical drawings to coordinate lighting locations and requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, interior designers, suppliers and project/site teams on lighting-related matters.
- Prepare lighting specifications, fixture schedules and other necessary technical documentation.
- Provide technical support to the project team during installation and resolve lighting-related design or coordination issues.
- Attend site meetings or site inspections when required.
- Ensure lighting designs are practical for site installation and comply with relevant project requirements and standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Lighting Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Preferably 2 years or more relevant working experience in lighting design or a related field.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and DIALux / DIALux evo.
- Good understanding of lighting concepts, lux levels, colour temperature, beam angles and lighting applications.
- Knowledge of lighting control systems, dimming systems or smart lighting systems will be an advantage.
- Able to read architectural and electrical drawings.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Practical, responsible and detail-oriented.
