Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform energized and de-energized line work on transmission and distribution systems
- Install and maintain poles, crossarms, transformers, insulators, and conductors
- Lead complex work tasks, including switching, phasing, and troubleshooting outages
- Perform rubber glove and/or hot stick work as qualified
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and utility standards
- Direct and guide lower-level crew members on job tasks
- Conduct job briefings and enforce safe work practices
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE, tools, and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with DOT/FMCSA vehicle and safety requirements
Requirements
- Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent verifiable experience
- Extensive experience in overhead and/or underground distribution systems
- CDL Class A required
- Proficiency in energized work methods (rubber glove, hot stick, etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and DOT/FMCSA regulations
Working Conditions
- Work is performed outside in all types of weather environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift for long periods of time.
- Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
