Lineman A

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform energized and de-energized line work on transmission and distribution systems
• Install and maintain poles, crossarms, transformers, insulators, and conductors
• Lead complex work tasks, including switching, phasing, and troubleshooting outages
• Perform rubber glove and/or hot stick work as qualified
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and utility standards
• Direct and guide lower-level crew members on job tasks
• Conduct job briefings and enforce safe work practices
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE, tools, and equipment
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with DOT/FMCSA vehicle and safety requirements

Requirements

• Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent verifiable experience
• Extensive experience in overhead and/or underground distribution systems
• CDL Class A required
• Proficiency in energized work methods (rubber glove, hot stick, etc.)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and DOT/FMCSA regulations

Working Conditions

• Work is performed outside in all types of weather environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift for long periods of time.
• Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
