Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution systems
- Perform climbing and aerial work independently on routine tasks
- Safely assist in energized line work within certification level
- Set poles, frame structures, and install conductors and transformers
- Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related equipment
- Read and interpret work orders, maps, and basic drawings
- Mentor Lineman C and Groundhands in proper procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and company safety standards
- Complete required documentation accurately (inspections, logs, etc.)
Requirements
- Several years of powerline experience
- Demonstrated progression in climbing and linework skills
- CDL Class A required
- Working knowledge of energized work practices and utility standards
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills
Working Conditions
- Work is performed outside in all types of weather environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift for long periods of time.
- Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
