Lineman B

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution systems
• Perform climbing and aerial work independently on routine tasks
• Safely assist in energized line work within certification level
• Set poles, frame structures, and install conductors and transformers
• Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related equipment
• Read and interpret work orders, maps, and basic drawings
• Mentor Lineman C and Groundhands in proper procedures
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and company safety standards
• Complete required documentation accurately (inspections, logs, etc.)

Requirements

• Several years of powerline experience
• Demonstrated progression in climbing and linework skills
• CDL Class A required
• Working knowledge of energized work practices and utility standards
• Strong safety awareness and communication skills

Working Conditions

• Work is performed outside in all types of weather environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift for long periods of time.
• Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
