D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Litigation Attorney. The right candidate will support the company’s business objectives, defend and pursue its legal interests. Pursue alternative resolution methods using arbitration or mediation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage litigation matters, including oversight and collaboration with outside counsel
  • Perform initial Case Investigation and Assessment
  • Assist in responding to discovery requests, subpoenas, government inquiries, and regulatory investigations Advise internal stakeholders and senior management on legal risks associated with business activities and proposed courses of action
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the legal team, as well as cross-functional teams across the organization, to achieve strategic objectives, manage legal risks effectively, and effect resolution among all parties
  • Locate and take preliminary statements from witnesses, reviewing documents, client interviews and investigation of relevant events leading up to the dispute
  • Actively drive cases to resolution and participate in mediations and settlement conferences Maintain and update matter management systems, including opening matters, tracking status, managing budgets, and reporting on outcomes
  • Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits required to maintain licensure
  • Maintain current knowledge of legal developments, trends, and best practices relevant to the organization’s business
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to travel overnight
