Localization Project coordinator

Side International Japan (Formerly PTW) is hiring for a Project Coordinator for our localization department. This role requires you to support the project management team in the running of projects and provides ad-hoc linguistic support (some translation and proofreading work mainly).

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Support the running of all assigned projects. This includes:
  • Prepares equipment, documentation for project start.
  • Creates progress projections based on approved schedule and raise resourcing concerns.
  • Ensuring translation projects run as scheduled in according to instructions provided by Project Managers while achieving the highest possible level of quality.
  • Ensure that the translated text is amended according to client feedback as deemed necessary by the Project Managers.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively
  • Communicated with client on operational problems in real time, actively proposing solutions where available.

Team Supervision

  • Ensure that the attendance of the assigned staff is accounted for and the correct documentation and files are kept up to date.
  • Provide support to direct reports to ensure their working conditions are adequate and liaise with other departments to ensure capacity plans are in place.
  • Provide feedback on performance of the staff as required by Management

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  1. Experience in localization, localization QA or software QA
  2. Business level English and Japanese
  3. Experience in the video games or media entertainment industry is preferred
  4. Excellent knowledge of business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  5. Knowledge of CAT tools (memoQ is a plus)
  6. Clear and effective English communication skills (verbal and written)
  7. Demonstrates proactivity
  8. Ability to develop new ways to improve operations and to create opportunities
  9. Good organisation and problem-solving skills
  10. Keeps a “can do” attitude and positive thinking
