Locum Optician / Optometrist (Up to $27/hr) #HGNT

We are hiring Locum Opticians / Optometrists to be outsourced to our client from a reputable healthcare organization.

Job Responsibilities

- Provide professional advice and educate patients on eye care.

- Perform eye examinations using specialised equipment to assess ocular health and identify symptoms.

- Recommend suitable solutions and provide professional advice to patients.

- Dispense lenses and manage lens inventory.

- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.

- Support daily clinic operations and maintain professional service standards.

- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes.

- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Must be fully registered with the Optometrists and Opticians Board (OOB).

- Healthcare setting experience is preferred, as the role includes Patient Service Officer (PSO) duties such as insurance claims and billing.

- Able to commit to a 6-month locum contract, with the possibility of extension, or a direct 1-year locum arrangement.

- Locum Optician: $18–$20/hr.

- Locum Optometrist: $25–$27/hr.

- Working hours:

- Monday: 9.00am–4.00pm

- Tuesday: 9.00am–4.00pm

- Wednesday: 9.00am–1.00pm

- Thursday: 1.00pm–5.00pm

- Friday: 9.00am–4.00pm

- Saturday: 9.00am–1.00pm

- Working location: Woodleigh
