Machine Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand and comply with Safety, Health & Environmental rules and regulations. Identify, challenge, document and report unsafe behaviors.
• Know, follow and verify standardized work to meet established internal and external safety, quality and cost standards, in accordance with the quality management system.
• Effectively use resources to ensure planned output of product to satisfy customer expectations for quality and on-time delivery.
• Partner with all production team members to monitor production performance in SEQDCM. Participate in developing and implementing countermeasures as necessary, and coordinate with supporting departments to effectively resolve problems.
• Record changes on machine set points and communicate information with the next shift.
• Ensure all quality and procedure related documentation is kept current and controlled.
• Record hourly and daily production performance in SEQDCM.
• Assist to collect, analyze, and evaluate information regarding problems in SEQDCM performance. Communicate to Team Leader. Identify potential risks and help to develop and apply necessary countermeasures for problems, risks and near misses.
• Maintain and improve 5S environment and visual management methods via Control Boards, Operation Manuals, and other visual methods.
• Participate in continuous kaizen applying Toyota Production System (TPS) methods to all manufacturing operations to improve performance and reduce cost, waste and variance to plan.
• Practice and encourage effective communication within and outside the department between all levels of associates.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels of tools, parts and supplies as necessary to meet production demands.
• Complete tasks and verify their satisfactory execution, associated with the preventive maintenance program to avoid machine downtime and maximize machine life.
• Comply with all company policies & rules, county, state and federal regulations and guidelines including OSHA, EPA, EEOC and other applicable laws. Report any observed violations to immediate supervisor.
• Support production team in all their duties.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
