Mailroom Clerk
The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely handling of all incoming and outgoing mail. This includes sorting, distributing and processing sensitive documents such as medical records, insurance claims and confidential correspondence. The Mailroom clerk ensures compliance with HIPAA and the organizations policies.
- Receive, sort and deliver incoming mail, including confidential medical and insurance documents to the correct departments or personnel.
- Prepare and process outgoing mail, ensuring proper postage and timely dispatch via courier services.
- Maintain logs, records and discrepancies of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages using our internal management system.
- Operate mailroom equipment such as scanners, fax machines etc.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of mailroom supplies including envelopes, labels and postage.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Educational Background: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Prior experience in medical office administration or mailroom preferred
- Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
Technical skills: Proficiency in basic computer skills (email, data entry, Microsoft suite).
