About the Role

Storm Guardian Generators is looking for a dependable, mechanically skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Alvin, TX. This position is responsible for maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential standby generators to ensure they remain reliable and ready when customers need them most.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently, and takes pride in providing quality workmanship and dependable service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on residential standby generators
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues
• Test generators to verify proper operation and performance
• Identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs or replacement parts
• Complete repairs and service work according to manufacturer specifications
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and documentation
• Safely operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and other service equipment
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding completed maintenance and identified issues
• Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle, tools, and equipment
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
• Maintain knowledge of generator systems, components, and evolving service procedures
• Complete assigned service calls efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

Qualifications

• Previous experience in generator maintenance, small engines, HVAC, electrical, automotive, plumbing, or a related mechanical trade preferred
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and components
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and manage daily service assignments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and tools
