Manager - AC Electrical Design
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare in-house engineering drawings such as SLDs, AC layouts, GA drawings, cable
routing, and detailed electrical drawings for solar PV projects.
- Design and size AC-side equipment including inverters, transformers, HT/LT panels,
switchgear, and evacuation systems.
- Perform electrical studies such as load flow analysis, relay settings, cable sizing, voltage
drop calculations, and protection coordination.
- Develop technical specifications and datasheets for major plant equipment and systems.
- Ensure all designs comply with IS / IEC / CEA / DISCOM / SECI / NTPC standards and grid
codes.
- Coordinate with utilities/DISCOMs for grid connectivity approvals and technical
compliance.
- Support testing, commissioning, and grid synchronisation activities at site.
- Prepare and float RFQs, evaluate technical offers, and support techno-commercial
finalisation of vendors.
- Manage the Master Document List (MDL) and ensure timely submission and approval of
engineering documents.
- Support BOQ preparation, project costing, and budget estimation for solar projects.Provide
- preliminary DC-side support including string sizing, ILR optimization, DC cable
sizing, and combiner box configurations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (DC, civil, SCADA) and support BESS integration
design (AC coupling, PCS, grid interface) as an added advantage.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.E./B.Tech – Electrical Engineering
- 6–8 years’ experience in solar EPC project engineering
Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in solar plant electrical design and drawing preparation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP / SKM and PV Syst & Sketchup will be added advantage.
- Experience in RFQs, MDL, costing, and bidding support
