Shapes scheduling strategy for a business unit, aligning operational decisions with commercial goals and risk management priorities. Drives process improvements and ensures compliance with complex regulatory frameworks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages day-ahead, real-time, and intra-day power and gas schedules to ensure seamless execution across balancing authorities.
- Manages the purchasing and selling of energy and transmission to meet customer needs and organization objectives.
- Oversees compliance with regulatory and market rule changes and provides strategic guidance on policy impacts.
- Serves as the escalation point for system events, grid emergencies, and scheduling disputes to minimize financial and operational risk.
- Maintains internal governance processes to support audit readiness, transaction traceability, and all federal and regulatory compliance (e.g. North American Electric Reliability Corporation/Federal Energy Regulatory Commission NERC/FERC ).
- Optimizes energy transportation through strategic scheduling, purchase, and resale of transmission assets.
- Manages modernization initiatives to automate workflows and embed predictive analytics in scheduling operations.
- Manages physical position exposures and short- and long-term scheduling opportunities across domestic energy markets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
