Manager, Enterprise Technology Services Communications

The Manager, Enterprise Technology Services Communications, plays a key role in developing and executing communications campaigns that help American Express colleagues around the globe understand and adopt workplace technologies and AI productivity tools that support how they work. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional writing and content development skills, strong project management capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to build effective relationships across the organization. This role is part of the company’s Corporate Affairs & Communications organization and reports to the Director, Enterprise Technology Services Communications.

  • Develop and execute communications plans and approaches that support workplace technology launches, change moments, adoption efforts, training campaigns, and ongoing colleague education.
  • Independently manage communications projects from intake through execution, including planning, stakeholder engagement, content development, approvals, launch, and post-launch support.
  • Translate technical concepts, product updates, and colleague impacts into clear, concise, and actionable communications for non-technical audiences.
  • Write, edit, and produce communications across a variety of channels and formats, including enterprise emails, monthly Amex Tech newsletter, intranet content, presentations, FAQs, training materials, Slack posts, and other digital communications.
  • Create polished, on-brand visual communications for digital and physical channels, including digital displays, intranet pages, Slack, advertisements, posters, and other campaign assets.
  • Build strong partnerships with Technology product teams and other internal stakeholders, staying informed of business priorities, product roadmaps, rollout plans, and evolving colleague impacts.
  • Manage communications calendars, project timelines, and competing priorities to ensure effective and timely execution across multiple initiatives.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to corporate brand standards across communications campaigns and deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communications workflows, processes, and outcomes, including through the effective use of AI.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience developing and executing communications for workplace technology, technology adoption, change management, or other complex colleague-facing initiatives.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, compelling communications for broad, non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of workplace technologies and AI productivity tools, with experience supporting technology-focused initiatives and curiosity about emerging technologies and how they shape the colleague experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop communications plans and independently translate broader communications and change strategies into effective campaigns, content, and channel approaches.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent initiatives, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, collaborate across functions, exercise sound judgment, adapt quickly, and influence stakeholders, including leaders.
  • Experience creating polished, on-brand visual communications for digital channels; advanced graphic design expertise is not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, workplace collaboration platforms, presentation development tools, and corporate intranet/content management systems.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and demonstrated experience using them to support content development, editing, research, ideation, and communications workflows.
  • Experience developing communications across a variety of channels and formats, including email, intranet platforms, collaboration tools, presentations, video, digital displays, and other digital communications.
  • Knowledge of user-centered content design principles for intranet and digital communications, including information architecture, navigation, usability, and end-user experience.
  • Portfolio of writing samples required; samples demonstrating technology-focused or colleague-facing communications are strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting global workplace technology organizations, technology adoption programs, or large-scale technology rollouts preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications or other visual design tools preferred
