Fielmann USA is seeking a full-time Manager of Mergers, Acquisitions, & Integrations to join our team!

POSITION SUMMARY:

Serve as the central deal owner for acquisitions of optical practices, from initial opportunity and seller engagement through diligence, approval, closing, and transition to Operations. The role develops and maintains trusted relationships with doctor-owners and other sellers, leads negotiations, and coordinates internal workstreams to ensure each transaction supports Fielmann USA’s growth strategy and meets financial, operational, real estate, and integration objectives. Own the transaction process and its forward momentum, partnering with Finance, Legal, Real Estate, Operations, HR, IT, Doctor Relations, and Marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities

STRATEGIC DUE DILIGENCE & INTEGRATION

  • Negotiate transactions terms, include Letter of Interest (LOI) and all transaction-related documents in partnership with owners
  • Support the identification, screening, and evaluation of M&A opportunities.
  • Administer and oversee the proposal, negotiation, and purchase process for new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain detailed due diligence and integration plans, including milestones, timelines, resource requirements, and costs required to achieve objectives
  • Coordinate cross-functional diligence activities and ensure key findings, open items, risks, and mitigation actions are clearly documented and tracked
  • Present regular due diligence updates to senior leadership, highlighting critical issues, decisions required, and recommended mitigation strategies

INTEGRATION, FINANCIAL & MARKET ANALYSIS

  • Partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop integration strategies aligned with Fielmann USA’s operating model and to drive timely, objective decision-making
  • Coordinate and drive accurate financial analysis of acquisition prospects and support evaluations with the senior leadership team
  • Collaborate with the Store Development team to establish appropriate site-selection criteria and evaluate location-related considerations
  • Conduct and maintain market research reflecting business, competitive, and optical-industry trends
  • Create executive-ready presentations, investment conclusions, and recommendations on M&A opportunities for leadership review and approval

LEADERSHIP

  • Represent Fielmann USA in discussions with external partners, owners, and investors
  • Coordinate and drive accurate financial analysis of acquisition prospects and lead evaluations with senior leadership team
  • Work closely with leaders and cross-functional teams to plan and execute on due diligence and integration projects successfully
  • Facilitate complex, time-sensitive decisions by clearly presenting facts, implications, alternatives, and recommended actions
  • Maintain knowledge of optical industry trends and competitive landscape

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience; M&A/consulting experience preferred
  • Experience with retail healthcare/healthcare services a plus
  • Strong background in investment banking, consulting or private equity
  • Strong business acumen with direct leadership and/or influencing experience
  • Able to quickly and autonomously analyze financial data and translate into actionable insights for informed decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate complex and time sensitive decisions
  • Able to work cross-functionally with excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed corporate environment
  • Solid organizational, planning, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Commercial Real Estate experience a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication
  • Able to read and write at a high school graduate level
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)
  • Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
  • Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to perform valuation, due diligence, and closing activities
