Manager of Power Program
Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Manager of Power Program to join our team! The Manager of the Power Program is responsible for monitoring, managing, and coordinating the operational aspects of various initiatives (AKA projects) designed to advance the corresponding program within a planned Power Program. This newly envisioned portfolio will oversee the life cycle management of over 7,000 industrial batteries and 2,500 chargers. This role will support initiative/project planning, resourcing and execution. The Manager will ensure alignment across multiple business functions, including vendor management. The role is a mid-level management position reporting to senior level management and above. The role will provide leadership to managers, supervisors and/or professional staff and will be accountable for the performance and results of multiple-related units. The role will also focus on developing programmatic plans tightly linked to a corresponding strategy. Decisions will be guided by functional strategies and priorities.
The Manager of the Power Program will continually review the status of initiatives/projects and budgets to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. He/she assesses initiative/project issues and develops solutions to established objectives. He/she will also develop mechanisms for monitoring initiative/project progress and for intervention and problem solving with supporting organizations. Finally, he/she is responsible for decisions which have an impact on outcomes and where failure to complete assignments will typically result in serious delays and expenditure of additional resources.

Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.
- Develop a comprehensive Raymond West Power Program, most specifically, the strategy, standards, processes, and procedures necessary to maximize the efficient use, longevity, and profitability of Raymond West lift-truck batteries, chargers, and related equipment.
- Develop and lead the execution of a Raymond West Power Program strategy through direct oversight, training, inspections, and audits. The strategy is intended to have lines of effort that include:
- Establish and enforce power standards/processes/procedures
- Establish battery life-cycle management processes
- Enhance RW reconditioned battery sales program
- Enhance RW power maintenance/repair offerings.
- Support the management of battery and charger inventory, to include warehouse tracking and routine maintenance, as well as corresponding data entries in management systems such as Excel spreadsheets, SharePoint, or the company enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Develop and implement a program for direct customer engagement to educate and inspect compliance with rental contractual battery charging and maintenance requirements.
- Develop and implement a program to market Raymond West capabilities to provide for-fee watering services, maintenance, and related support on rented, leased, or customer-owned lift truck batteries and chargers.
- Optimize Raymond West power procurement processes (whether new, rental, or used) to maximize profitability through power life-cycle management and direct interaction with lift-truck battery and charger vendors.
- In partnership with the Raymond West Samsara Team and associated vendors, develop opportunities to leverage remote power location and status technology for revenue generation, cost control, and power life-cycle management.
- In partnership with the Raymond West Environmental-Health-Safety (EHS) and Training Departments, identify, document, and standardize all regulatory and compliance items that must be followed at our facilities and at our customer locations.
- Implement and audit the regulatory and compliance standards associated with battery or charger maintenance (in the field or shop) and movement In partnership with EHS
- Manage staff in an assigned area to include planning and assigning projects/tasks to staff, making hiring, separation, and disciplinary recommendations, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Ensure staff development and coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
- Provide leadership for assigned staff.
- Manage employees’ timecards utilizing the company’s Time and Attendance system.
- Manage the operational activities within the Power Program.
- Develop, organize, implement, and oversee programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure achievement of the Power Program goals.
- Render decisions with respect to key department issues impacting overall service and performance.
- Provide input to senior leadership for annual budgets.
- Direct and prepare reports for company senior leadership.
- Participate in company or department projects.
- Ensure employees and team are following all company policies.
- Work closely with other departments and communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and manufacturers both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate drive and initiative.
- Maintains a professional attitude in all matters.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Manage time efficiently.

Education/Experience:
Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10-years of operational industry experience, regardless of field.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and operational implementation.
- Prior leadership/management experience of an organizational structure that includes subordinate leaders.
- Demonstrated experience in profit and loss (P&L) statement management for an assigned portfolio.
- Prior industrial power experience valued but not required.
Travel Requirement:
- 25% (10 hours a week)
- Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.

Pay Range:
- The salary range for this position is $64,000 - $120,000. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
