We are currently seeking a Manager/Shop In-Charge - Production, to join our team based in MMY Dahej, Gujarat.

Job Purpose:
The Production Manager / Shop In-Charge is responsible for leading and coordinating all shop-floor production activities in a modular manufacturing yard. The role ensures smooth execution of fabrication, assembly, sequencing, planning, and dispatch activities for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and modules. The position requires strong coordination with engineering, projects, quality control, welding, procurement, and other internal departments to meet production targets safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Job Role:
Production Planning & Execution
- Take complete ownership of manufacturing schedules and production sequences.
- Prepare fabrication and assembly sequences for vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and modules.
- Develop and maintain production schedules using MS Project or similar planning tools.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production progress against plan.
- Review schedule deviations and prepare recovery plans to meet delivery commitments.
- Prepare and track shop load plans to identify underload or overload situations in advance.
- Identify constraints in production flow and highlight risks to management proactively.
- Ensure day-to-day planning and smooth execution of all production activities.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate closely with Projects, Quality Control, Design, Welding, and other related departments.
- Work with internal teams to resolve technical and operational issues affecting production.
- Liaise with contractors, vendors, and manpower agencies as required.
- Ensure clear communication of priorities, targets, and production requirements to shop teams.
Shop Floor Management
- Guide production teams and support them in resolving shop-floor issues.
- Monitor material movement, manpower deployment, tools, fixtures, and equipment availability.
- Prepare fixture plans and ensure their timely implementation.
- Ensure proper utilization of material handling equipment and assembly resources.
- Supervise shop operations to maximize productivity and minimize idle time.
Quality, Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety rules, regulations, and company procedures.
- Promote and maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the manufacturing yard.
- Support a safe working environment and take preventive action to avoid accidents and incidents.
- Coordinate with QC to ensure production quality requirements are met at each stage.
Process Improvement
- Take initiative in standardization of processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Review productivity norms and suggest improvements for better efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce rework, and optimize manpower utilization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in the shop floor operations.
Leadership & Team Management
- Assign tasks and monitor progress based on priorities set by management and senior leadership.
- Manage shop-floor manpower, contractors, and work allocation effectively.
- Ensure discipline, accountability, and teamwork across all production activities.
- Motivate and guide the team to achieve production targets within schedule and quality requirements.

About you:

- B. Tech / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering, or equivalent.
- 12 to 15+ years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and modular structures.Strong background in production planning, shop-floor execution, and fabrication sequencing.
- Experience in modular manufacturing yard operations is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Good understanding of fabrication processes for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and modules.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing planning, sequencing, and shop loading.
- Proficiency in MS Project and production tracking tools.
- Ability to prepare and monitor recovery plans and production schedules.
- Knowledge of fixture planning, material handling, and shop-floor resource optimization.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and housekeeping practices.
