About the Role
The Manager / Senior Manager – Investment & Events will lead venture operations, pipeline screening, portfolio tracking, and flagship ecosystem events at Rishihood’s Venture Studio. This hybrid role bridges early-stage venture building and active ecosystem engagement, driving deal flow, investor interactions, demo days, hackathons, and founder-focused initiatives across the university ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deal Flow & Investment Pipeline Operations
Manage end-to-end deal sourcing, screening, and evaluation of student-, faculty-, and external founder-led startups.
Conduct preliminary business viability, unit economics, and market-size assessments.
Prepare investment memos, evaluation scorecards, and pitch synthesis for the investment committee.
Facilitate due diligence, term sheet execution, compliance reviews, and legal documentation (SHA/SSA, convertible notes).
Track portfolio health metrics, milestone reviews, and coordinate investor update reports.
2. Event Strategy & Production
Conceptualize, budget, and execute flagship events including Demo Days, Investor Mixers, Hackathons, Founder Masterclasses, and Pitch Showcases.
Oversee cross team management, staging, logistics, on-ground coordination, and attendee ticketing/registration flows.
Drive post-event engagement, feedback loops, and conversion metrics to maintain long-term investor and partner relations.
3. Ecosystem, Investor & Mentor Relations
Build and nurture partnerships with angel syndicates, venture funds, family offices, and corporate accelerator arms.
Source, onboard, and manage domain mentors, founders-in-residence, and keynote jury members.
Collaborate closely with university leadership, academic faculties, and external incubation partners.
Requirements
Experience & Background
Manager: 2-4 years of relevant experience in a venture capital fund, accelerator/incubator, startup studio, or angel network.
Senior Manager: 3-6+ years of hands-on experience managing startup pipelines, investment operations, and large-scale startup events.
Prior experience executing high-tech founders or investor events is required.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related fields (MBA preferred).
Functional & Technical Skills
Strong grasp of early-stage venture frameworks, term sheet mechanics, cap tables, and valuation concepts.
Demonstrated track record of producing multi-stakeholder corporate or startup ecosystem events.
High proficiency in pipeline management and productivity tools (Notion, Zoho CRM/Recruit, Excel, Google Workspace).
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with an ability to interface comfortably with senior investors and institutional leaders.
