Manufacturing Production Planner
The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring operating policies and procedures for managing their areas of production scheduling, forecasting, and supply planning. They will manage improvements by utilizing SAP and other company-approved programs.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact as it relates to their areas of responsibility for scheduling, forecasting, and supply planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customer needs.
- Act as the liaison between the business and manufacturing operations – leading daily planning meetings with them and coordinating downtime and changeovers, etc.
- Support production by sequencing the schedule to maximize output and minimize changeover time while taking into account customer priority.
- Provide accurate lead time to Customer Service and Sales.
- Manage load leveling and raise awareness of bottlenecks in manufacturing.
- Engage in capacity management with cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate and participate in recurring and ad-hoc scheduling, demand, and supply meetings with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain appropriate planning parameters in SAP and other systems and tools.
- Support the launch of new programs/products.
- Optimize inventory levels, minimize excess and obsolete inventory, and strive for 100% on-time delivery to the customer as well as other plants.
- Monitor raw material consumption and develop plans to maintain production needs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business management, supply chain/operations, or engineering.
- Minimum 1-3 years of operations experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with experience in the use of lean principles
- SAP experience
- Ability to work cross-functionally both internally and externally with customers.
- Ability to quickly and accurately analyze problems and provide viable solutions using proven lean methodology.
- Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a team-oriented environment.
