Salary: £13.90ph day rate / £20.85 night rate
Shift Patters / Working Hours:
Days (38 hours): Monday - Thursday: 7:15am - 16:00pm & Fridays 7:15am - 12:15pm.
Nights (40 hours): Monday - Wednesday: 18:00pm - 6:00am & Thursdays 16:00pm - 20:00pm
*day/nights are alternate each week*
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Component Marking Technician to join a leading precision engineering and manufacturing business serving highly regulated industries.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience who enjoys detailed, hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining high quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for marking and identifying components using a variety of specialist marking methods, ensuring all products meet customer and traceability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate specialist marking equipment including:
- Dot Peen
- Vibro Etching
- Chemical Etching
- Ink Marking Systems
- Hand Etching
- Ensure all markings meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Verify that markings are clear, accurate and fully traceable.
- Work closely with production and planning teams to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Carry out pressure testing activities where required.
- Apply protective coatings as part of production processes.
- Identify and report product defects and support quality investigations.
- Handle precision-engineered components with care and attention.
- Complete routine equipment checks and assist with basic maintenance activities.
- Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of quality standards and traceability requirements.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Flexible approach with willingness to learn new skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience within aerospace, engineering or precision manufacturing.
- Knowledge of component traceability requirements.
- Understanding of tooling and fixtures.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
