Marine Superintendent (Offshore Support Vessels)
Key Responsibilities
Vessel Operations & Management
- Oversee daily vessel movements to ensure safe, efficient, and smooth operations.
- Support the day-to-day technical and operational management of assigned vessels.
- Coordinate closely with Vessel Masters, Chief Engineers, and shore-based teams.
- Develop and implement operational plans covering cargo operations, stowage, towing arrangements, and voyage planning.
- Provide 24/7 operational support on a rotational basis for vessel emergencies and urgent operational requirements.
Marine Compliance & Safety
- Ensure vessel operations comply with OVID, OVMSA, ISM Code, ISPS, MLC, applicable maritime regulations, and company policies.
- Work closely with the QHSE Lead to conduct risk assessments, implement appropriate safety measures, and manage operational incidents and emergencies.
- Participate actively in QHSSE initiatives, including safety meetings, risk assessments, incident reviews, and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify potential operational risks and implement appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
Operational Coordination
- Assist Project Leaders in overseeing vessel-related operational matters.
- Coordinate with HSE, Procurement, Crewing, Maintenance & Repairs, and other departments to ensure efficient operations and minimise vessel downtime.
- Liaise with clients, port authorities, agents, and relevant regulatory bodies in Singapore and the region.
- Coordinate operational requirements including port clearances, bunkering, crew changes, inspections, and vessel logistics.
Vessel Performance & Crew Support
- Monitor vessel performance, including fuel efficiency, maintenance schedules, operational efficiency, and QHSSE KPIs.
- Identify and escalate operational or performance issues and follow through on corrective actions.
- Support crew management and logistics, including crew rotations, medical examinations, travel arrangements, and training compliance.
Marine Projects & Consultancy
- Support marine consultancy and project activities, including vessel deliveries, audits, pre-purchase inspections, and regulatory/compliance consultancy.
- Provide operational input and support for marine-related projects as required.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor and control vessel operational costs and assist in preparing operational budgets.
- Maintain accurate operational records, documentation, and reports for clients, regulators, and internal management.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with Vessel Masters, clients, management, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to operational workflows to optimise resources, improve efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and prevent potential operational issues.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
