Maritime Surveyor
DNV – Maritime Station Africa is seeking a Ship/Mobile Offshore Unit Surveyor to join our Angola office. As a “Fleet in Service” Ship/MOU Surveyor based in Angola, you will be a member of a highly qualified team of surveyors.
Tasks may include:
- Ship in Operation Surveys onboard mobile offshore units as well as ship in operation at shipyards and offshore locations according to rules and regulations.
- Certification and verification of material & components according to rules and specified standards.
- Effectively interact with yards, owner’s representatives at the yard and manufacturers.
- Manage clients together with other relevant parts of our organization.
- Complete project-oriented work, including cooperation in interdisciplinary verification projects.
- Perform project control, reporting, and follow-up within the due date.
- Responsible for professional and consistent deliveries throughout the project - plan, coordinate, follow up and improve the operational activities of the project by the framework in the DNV strategy, budget, the DMS, and other applicable instructions.

- Bachelor or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Ship/MOU Surveyor / Marine Engineer.
- Language: English Speaking / Writing proficiency.
- Technical competencies: DNV or other IACS class society qualifications as class & statutory surveyor; ISM, MLC and ISPS auditor will be a plus.
- Behavioral competencies: Team player but able to work independently on surveys/audits, customer-oriented mindset, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Travel expectation /Year - Domestic – 60 % International 10%
- Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job: Climbing pilot ladders & in/out of tanks and confined spaces; crew boat launches in various local climate condition.
- Valid driving license
