Marketing Actuary, Life & Health - Hong Kong
As a Marketing Actuary, Life & Health you will contribute to the growth and profitability of SCOR's Life & Health business in Hong Kong by supporting client management, business development, product innovation with a focus on Financial Solutions initiatives. The role partners closely with clients and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop commercially attractive solutions and strengthen SCOR's market position in Hong Kong.
Key duties and responsibilities
Business Development & Client Management
- Conduct market research and identify emerging business opportunities, with a particular focus on Financial Solutions.
- Monitor regulatory, accounting and capital developments (including RBC, HKRBC and IFRS 17) and assess their implications for clients and SCOR.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients to support business growth and enhance SCOR's market presence.
- Present and discuss SCOR's value proposition, reinsurance solutions to clients.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, consultants, distributors and reinsurance brokers.
Product Development & Financial Solutions
- Support the development of reinsurance solutions (with a focus on financial solutions) tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate closely with the Financial Solutions team, ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially attractive and aligned with SCOR's profitability objectives.
- Translate conceptual product ideas into practical and implementable solutions.
Transaction Management
- Support the end-to-end quotation, negotiation and execution process for new business opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams throughout transaction delivery.
- Support treaty drafting, review and execution processes with both internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare marketing materials, client presentations and supporting documentation for business development activities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Foster an effective internal network within APAC, Business Acceptance Team, and global R&D teams to leverage the internal expertise in product development and other SCOR solutions.
- Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Required experience & competencies
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in actuarial, valuation, pricing, capital management, IFRS 17, RBC or related insurance/reinsurance/consultant functions.
- FSA, ASA or in the progress of achieving ASA (or other equivalent qualification)
- Strong understanding of life insurance financial statements, balance sheet management and key performance indicators.
- Good understanding of the Hong Kong insurance market, including regulatory developments and industry trends.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
- Strong commercial awareness and client-focused mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
