Mechanical Design Trainee

Supports the development of mechanical designs and drawings for machines, tools, or components under the guidance of senior team members. This role is designed to build technical competencies and exposure in mechanical layout, drafting, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities Design Support Assist in creating 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software for machine parts, assemblies, and tools. Translate rough sketches and verbal instructions into working drawings. Documentation and Design Files Maintain updated drawing files and drawing revisions. Help prepare design documentation including bill of materials and drawing index. Project Participation Join design reviews and team discussions to understand design rationale. Observe project installations, testing, and validations when required. Research and Coordination Conduct basic research on materials and components needed in design execution. Coordinate with fabrication, tooling, or electrical teams for drawing alignment. Compliance and Continuous Learning Follow internal drawing and design documentation procedures. Participate in training sessions and hands-on learning as scheduled by the department.

Job Specifications Knowledge Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and machine components Knowledge of mechanical properties, tolerancing, and materials Awareness of industrial mechanical standards Skills and Abilities Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks Basic sketching and visualization skills Good communication and coordination abilities Strong interest in machine design and continuous learning Education Graduate of BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related course Preferably completed academic requirements for a professional license (ME or PME)
