Mechanical & Piping Engineer (Water & Wastewater)
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical and piping systems for water and wastewater treatment plants at concept, functional, preliminary, and detailed stages to meet project requirements
- Prepare layouts, pipe routing, piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, 3D models, and material take-offs to support construction and procurement
- Manage field changes and maintain accurate as-built documentation to ensure project accuracy and compliance
- Review and evaluate vendor submissions to verify technical compliance and quality standards
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards
- Perform document control including managing drawings, submissions, reports, transmittals, and revision tracking to maintain project records
- Support procurement activities by preparing RFQs, coordinating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and planning inventory
- Lead meetings and discussions with clients, contractors, and vendors to facilitate communication and resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and project specifications throughout project execution
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical and piping design for water and wastewater treatment plants
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD applications for design and documentation
- Familiarity with engineering and project documentation, including drawings, material submissions, and shipping documents
- Strong organizational, communication, and task management skills to effectively manage multiple project tasks
- Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment
