Mechatronics Engineer
Summary
Designs and builds the mechanical and electromechanical systems that power autonomous robots for infrastructure applications, from CAD to field deployment.
Lambda Robotics (YC F26) builds autonomous systems for physical infrastructure. As a Robotics Mechatronics Engineer, you’ll design and integrate the mechanical, actuation, sensing, and electromechanical systems that allow our robots to operate reliably in the real world.
What you’ll do
- Design robot structures, mechanisms, actuator assemblies, sensor mounts, and protective enclosures.
- Integrate motors, gearboxes, bearings, sensors, and other electromechanical components.
- Take systems from CAD through prototyping, fabrication, assembly, wiring, bring-up, and field testing.
- Work closely with electrical engineers to integrate complete robotic systems.
What we’re looking for
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, machine elements, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAD, hands-on prototyping, machining, fabrication, or robot assembly.
- Familiarity with actuators, motors, sensors, wiring, and electromechanical system integration.
- A bias toward shipping, testing, and improving systems in the field.
