Medical Assistant – Primary Care

Coastal Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with patients, supporting providers, and being part of a team that puts patient care first.

Position Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and medication information
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Assist providers with exams, treatments, and in-office procedures
• Perform injections, phlebotomy, and other clinical duties as trained and permitted
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
• Perform EKGs and other basic clinical testing as needed
• Administer medications and injections according to provider orders and office protocols
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Assist with prescription requests, referrals, and patient follow-up
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments, testing, and provider instructions
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked exam rooms
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and company policies
• Work closely with providers and other clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
• Provide excellent customer service and help create a positive patient experience
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Previous medical office or Primary Care experience preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment
• Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
• Must be comfortable working directly with patients and providing clinical support
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
