Merchant Offboarding & Termination Analyst

Analyzes and executes the offboarding of high-risk or inactive merchants to ensure compliance with KYC, AML, and risk policies, collaborating with global teams in a Warsaw-based role.
The opportunity
In the KYC area, Customer Lifecycle Offboarding and Termination Team is responsible for managing the final stage of the customer lifecycle, ensuring that customer relationships are concluded in a controlled, compliant, and risk-aware manner. The team plays a critical role in protecting the institution from regulatory, financial, and reputational risk by identifying customers that no longer meet the organization’s risk appetite or commercial viability criteria and ensuring appropriate exit actions are taken.This function operates at the intersection of KYC, AML, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations, ensuring that customer exits are executed in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.The team is located in Warsaw; however, our stakeholders are all over the world. Day-to-day responsibilities
- Managing end-to-end offboarding and termination of customer relationships in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Identifying inactive or high-risk customers and performing final KYC and risk validations
- Coordinating account closures, ensuring proper handling of balances, obligations, and customer communication
- Documenting and justifying exit decisions, particularly in AML, sanctions, fraud, and reputational risk cases
- Collaborating closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and Front Office teams
- Maintaining audit-ready documentation and supporting internal and external regulatory reviews
- Preparing management reporting on exit volumes and risk trends
- Contributing to process improvements, automation initiatives, and control enhancements across the customer lifecyc
Who are we looking for
- Excellent command of English on the minimum C1 level
- Previous experience in KYC, AML compliance or merchant risk assessment
- Prior experience in risk-driven exits would be a plus
- Attention to detail and analytical skills, problem-solving attitude
- Experience in working in an international environment
- A strong sense of ownership, governance discipline, and the ability to balance regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and customer fairness are essential.
- Ability to work with various computer systems/program
