Microsoft Dynamics 365 Advanced Warehouse Management Senior Consultant
Your role, your impact
As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Advanced Warehouse Management (AWM) Senior Consultant, you’ll design, configure, and implement end-to-end warehouse management solutions within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (D365 SCM) platform.
You’ll act as a subject matter expert, leading clients through the full implementation lifecycle and applying your expertise in warehouse operations to deliver efficient, best-practice solutions. In this key client-facing role, you’ll ensure project success while mentoring junior team members and supporting continuous improvement.
Your day-to-day
Functional Consulting & Solution Design:
Lead the design and configuration of D365 SCM Advanced Warehouse Management (AWM) solutions to solve complex client business problems, including wave template configuration, location directives, work policies, and inventory tracking;
Architect end-to-end warehouse processes covering receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, cross-docking, and cycle counting within D365 AWM;
Configure and optimize warehouse mobile device menus, work classes, and mobile device portal (WMDP) user experiences;
Design and implement slotting, containerization, and zone-based warehouse strategies;
Translate complex business requirements into scalable functional designs, functional specification documents, and configuration workbooks;
Conduct fit/gap analysis and recommend extensions or ISV solutions where appropriate;
Advise clients on warehouse layout, bin structure (zones, aisles, racks, locations), and license plate management strategies.
Project Delivery & Implementation:
Lead and participate in full-lifecycle D365 AWM implementations, from design to hypercare phases;
Facilitate structured requirement-gathering workshops and process design sessions with business and operational stakeholders;.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans (SIT, UAT, regression) for warehouse management processes;
Support data migration activities including inventory on-hand, location setup, and warehouse configuration data;
Manage project change control, issue escalation, and risk identification within the AWM functional workstream;
Deliver end-user training, create training materials, and support organizational change management activities related to warehouse process transformation.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Act as the primary client contact for AWM workstream, managing expectations and building lasting trust;
Mentor team members on D365 AWM configuration, consulting best practices, and Alithya methodology;
Provide task estimates, resource planning input, and performance feedback for team members as required;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions;
Contribute to pre-sales activities including solution demonstrations, proposal development, and effort estimation;
Maintain awareness of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 product roadmap and share relevant updates with clients and the internal team.
Keys to your success
10+ years of combined ERP consulting or industry experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management operations;
10+ years of hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (D365 SCM/F&O) Advanced Warehouse Management, with participation in at least 2 full-lifecycle D365 AWM implementations;
Microsoft Certification: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Expert (MB-335) or commitment to obtain within 12 months of hire;
Proven expertise in D365 AWM configuration including: location directives, wave templates, work templates, slotting, cluster picking, cross-docking, containerization, cycle counting, and inbound/outbound shipment management;
Experience with Warehouse Management mobile devices (WMDP / Warehouse Management Mobile App) including menu configuration, user setup, and device integration;
Demonstrated experience leading client-facing requirement workshops, writing functional design documents, and delivering end-user training.
Extra edge
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
