Mid-level Backend Engineer, IAM

Summary

Builds and maintains core IAM services (authentication, authorization, access management) for a fintech-scale platform, ensuring scalable, secure backend systems that integrate with other teams.

We are looking for a Mid-level Backend Engineer to join the Identity & Access Management (IAM) team at DataSnipper!

In this role, you'll work on core platform services that power authentication, authorization, and access across our product. You’ll help build reliable, secure, and scalable systems that enable all backend teams.

This is a foundational platform role where your work will directly impact every part of the product.

What you will do:

  • Build and maintain core IAM services (authentication, authorization, access management)

  • Develop scalable and secure backend systems

  • Collaborate with other backend teams to ensure seamless integrations

  • Contribute to improving system reliability and performance

  • Participate in an on-call rotation (second line after tech support)

What you bring:

  • 3–6 years of backend development experience with OOP languages (C#, Java, Python, TypeScript, etc.)

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)

  • Solid understanding of API development

  • Experience building scalable systems

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

  • Bias to action and sense of ownership

  • Ability to work independently on defined tasks and clearly communicate blockers

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)

  • Good amount of experience around testing and various methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to authentication / authorization systems

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture

  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes

  • Interest in backend security and platform systems

  • Experience working in platform teams

  • Experience working in startups or scaleups
