Middle School – Mathematics Teacher

The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality Mathematics instruction to middle school students following the Cambridge curriculum. The role requires strong subject knowledge across key areas of Mathematics, while developing students’ mathematical thinking, inquiry, problem-solving and analytical skills. The teacher will create engaging and differentiated learning experiences that encourage students to explore mathematical concepts and apply their knowledge to real-world contexts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Cambridge Mathematics curriculum to middle school students through engaging, structured and differentiated lessons.
• Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons that develop students’ conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Adapt teaching strategies, resources and assessments to meet different learning abilities and attainment levels.
• Monitor, assess and provide constructive feedback on students’ academic progress and learning development.
• Maintain effective classroom management and create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, school activities and other duties assigned by the school.

Required Competencies and Certifications

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as QTS, PGCE with appropriate teaching status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Possess a degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education with a specialisation in Mathematics or a closely related field.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Mathematics at middle school level.
• Demonstrate the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and develop students’ logical reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with different learning abilities and attainment levels.
• A strong interest in developing students’ mathematical confidence, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
