Mission Support Supervisor - Madagascar
Assist the Mission Support Manager with matters relating to existing mission facilities and properties. Assist in preventing building deterioration and maximizing building life through the appropriate application of operations and maintenance processes and standards. Coordinate and report on mission facility needs to ensure they are being met. This is a people manager position that supervises the mission home attendant and mission driver.
Acts under the supervision of the Area Mission Support Manager to meet the temporal needs of the mission.
Meets regularly with the Mission President to understand the mission needs.
Manages the work of other employees such as mission drivers and mission housekeepers.
In partnership with HR, hires or terminates employees and recommends promotions, or other
changes of status for those reporting to them.
Conducts annual performance reviews, approves expenses, in partnership with HR handles
issues such as onboarding, time off requests, and worker accident claims.
Negotiates apartment leases, renewals, and closures.
Scopes and manages building maintenance projects.
Manages resources and assigns work to vendors to execute projects as planned meeting cost,
quality and timeliness objectives.
Performs inspections of mission facilities to ensure compliance with the approved standards.
Anticipates upcoming mission needs and manages them appropriately
Maintains inventory of Church-owned furnishings and ensure proper disposal of excess and
unserviceable supplies.
Maintains a strong relationship with mission leaders, missionaries, and other employees and
vendors
Must hold a current, valid temple recommend or be worthy to hold one.
A three-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s qualification is required.
The candidate should have at least two years of supervisory experience.
At least two years’ related experience in facilities and property management, construction procedures, business practices, and safety and fire codes is essential.
Exposure to front-line management in a multi-disciplinary work environment is expected.
Professional communication with mission leaders, contractors, and vendors is important for success in this role.
