Job Summary
The Mitigation Project Manager/Estimator supports mitigation operations throughout the greater Seattle area by assessing property damage caused by water, fire, mold, and storm events — common challenges given the Pacific Northwest's climate. This role is responsible for developing accurate, compliant, and profitable estimates using Xactimate software, while ensuring projects are properly scoped and documented. The Mitigation Project Manager/Estimator maintains strong communication with clients, insurance representatives, and internal teams, and assists with collections to support smooth project flow from initial inspection through completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Possess insurance industry specific knowledge as it relates to mitigation and rebuilds.
- Prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate and proprietary software.
- Ability to negotiate project scope and estimates.
- Maintain timely and effective communication between team, client, and insurance representative.
- Uphold a high level of professionalism, customer service, and integrity always.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge/previous experience in the restoration (fire/water/storm) industry.
- Ability to create/write consistent and comprehensive Xactimate estimates for projects.
- 1+years of experience using Xactimate estimating software.
- 1+ years of experience using restoration software (e.g., MICA, Moisture Mapper, DASH, Encircle, Restoration Manager)
- IICRC‑certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT)
- Knowledge of local, State and federal code requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate with individuals across all functions.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Work Environment
This role works both in the office and out in the field. In the office, you’ll collaborate with a supportive team, communicate with clients and partners, and stay connected through a fast‑paced but professional environment. In the field, you’ll visit residential and commercial properties across the greater Seattle area, working hands‑on with crews and interacting directly with customers.
