Position Summary

The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and customer support for Freightliner and DTNA commercial vehicles. This role serves as a key field resource for customers by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, responding to roadside service needs, and ensuring maximum vehicle uptime. The technician operates a fully equipped mobile service vehicle and delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform mobile diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on Freightliner and DTNA commercial trucks, engines, and related systems.

  • Respond to roadside service calls and customer locations to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, brake systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, steering, suspension, drivetrain, and hydraulic components.

  • Conduct DOT inspections, preventative maintenance services, and warranty repairs.

  • Complete recall campaigns, service bulletins, and product updates as assigned.

  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic service tools to identify and resolve vehicle concerns.

  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, inspection reports, and customer documentation.

  • Communicate repair recommendations and vehicle status updates to customers and management.

  • Ensure all repairs are completed according to DTNA, Freightliner, and OEM standards.

  • Maintain inventory, tools, and cleanliness of the mobile service vehicle.

  • Follow all company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Provide technical support and training assistance to customers when needed.

  • Participate in emergency and after-hours service support as required.
