MPU Wells Support Technician

Working under the direct supervision of the MPU Completions and Well Testing site supervisor, the Wells Intervention Technician Level performs day-to-day maintenance, greasing frac trees, replacing valves, servicing wellheads, manual labor and testing on equipment and facilities for the Hilcorp MPU Field.

This position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.

• Demonstrate support for the company's HSE management system.

• Perform manual labor.

• Perform heavy labor such as layout of hardline pipe and hauling/stacking materials on trailers or skids.

• Operate Wells service equipment: Loaders, Forklifts, Man-lifts.

• Perform hydro-testing on hard line or wellheads.

• Set up Wells Support jobs including Coil jobs, E-Line jobs, Full bore Jobs, Tree replacements, Well Disconnect and Reconnect with various flow-back components and pressure equipment.

• Perform rigging load calculations and proper rigging for lifting operations.

• Safely climb ladders.

Requirements

• Able to identify flanges.

• Knowledge of hardline components and uses.

• Knowledge of hydro testing.

• Knowledge of rigging procedures.

• Demonstrated experience with wellhead components, bolt-up procedures, flanges, threaded pipe and fittings, and proper safe use of tools.

• Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions.

• Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate.

• Capable of learning various CCI and client safety and operational procedures and demonstrating required competencies.

• Sound knowledge of operations and safety policies and procedures.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to severe outside weather conditions. This includes extreme cold in the winter. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving parts, etc. depending on the position and work environment. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • 7-day work week, 84 hours a week or more on a 3-week rotational schedule. Lodging and food are provided. PPE and Flame-Resistant Clothing are provided.
