Turn the Power of Music Into Comfort, Connection, and Meaningful Moments
Absolute Hospice is growing, and we are looking for a compassionate, experienced Music Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis!
Music has a special way of reaching people when words are difficult to find. As a Hospice Music Therapist, you will have the opportunity to use your musical talents and clinical expertise to bring comfort, encourage meaningful connections, support emotional well-being, and create special moments for patients and their loved ones during life's most important moments.
If you are passionate about helping others and want to make a meaningful difference through music, we invite you to explore this rewarding opportunity with Absolute Hospice.
Make an Impact Through Music
As part of our hospice team, you will:
-
Assess patients' and families' needs and develop individualized music therapy interventions that support comfort, emotional well-being, and quality of life.
-
Use music to encourage connection, reminiscence, relaxation, and meaningful experiences for patients and their loved ones.
-
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to identify patient needs and coordinate appropriate care.
-
Provide compassionate support to families throughout the hospice journey, including bereavement follow-up when appropriate.
-
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and protect patient and family confidentiality.
-
Educate staff, caregivers, and community partners about the benefits of music therapy in hospice care.
-
Assist with support groups and other programs as needed.
-
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives while supporting Absolute Hospice's commitment to exceptional, patient-centered care.
What We're Looking For
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Music Therapy; a master's degree is preferred.
-
Current Music Therapist–Board Certified (MT-BC) credential and any applicable state-required credentials.
-
At least two years of relevant music therapy experience.
-
Hospice or community-based experience preferred.
-
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
-
An understanding of the hospice philosophy, with a focus on comfort, dignity, and quality of life rather than rehabilitation.
-
A compassionate, patient-centered approach and the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and the hospice care team.
Why Join Absolute Hospice?
-
A rewarding opportunity to use your musical talents to make a real difference.
-
The flexibility of a PRN schedule.
-
The opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and families.
-
The chance to work with a team dedicated to compassionate, individualized end-of-life care and grief support.
