Description

National Account Manager

Remote | Central U.S. Preferred | 35-50% Travel

At Didion, we're looking for more than a salesperson. We're looking for a strategic business developer who thrives on identifying opportunities, building profitable partnerships, and driving growth.

This is a senior-level sales role responsible for developing and expanding relationships with key national accounts while pursuing new business opportunities across food and ingredient markets. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop customer strategies, identify growth opportunities, negotiate agreements, and position Didion as a preferred partner.

If you're energized by uncovering opportunities, using data and business insights to influence decisions, and building long-term customer partnerships, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Drive profitable growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Develop strategic account plans that increase customer value and long-term partnership potential.
  • Lead negotiations, pricing discussions, and commercial agreements.
  • Use market intelligence, financial analysis, and customer insights to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Partner with customers to create joint business plans and long-term growth strategies.
  • Analyze account performance, profitability, forecast accuracy, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, customer service, and leadership teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Provide meaningful input on customer presentations, business reviews, forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
  • Travel regularly to customer locations, industry events, and Didion facilities to build relationships and advance business opportunities.

What Makes You Successful

You are:

  • A hunter who enjoys creating opportunities rather than waiting for them.
  • Commercially minded and comfortable discussing business strategy, margins, profitability, and growth plans.
  • Highly analytical and able to turn data into actionable business decisions.
  • A strong negotiator who can build win-win agreements.
  • Self-directed and proactive.
  • Process-oriented and disciplined in forecasting, CRM management, documentation, and communication.
  • Adaptable with a growth mindset and curiosity for new technology, including AI-enabled business tools.
  • An engaging communicator who knows how to connect with different audiences and tailor your approach accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of business development, national account management, category management, or strategic sales experience.
  • Proven success winning new business and expanding existing accounts.
  • Experience with joint business planning and strategic customer partnerships.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Food, ingredient, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or adjacent industry experience preferred.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, analytics tools, and business planning software.

Why This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to influence the future growth of Didion while helping shape the next generation of customer partnerships. We have a strong operational foundation, new market opportunities, and an ambitious growth strategy. We're looking for someone who can help us pursue what's next.
