NAVAL ARCHITECT
Summary
Designs and evaluates ship repairs and modifications for U.S. Navy vessels, ensuring structural integrity, stability, and compliance with specifications.
You will serve as a Naval Architect in the Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Division of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA, Spain.
You will adapt test and evaluation results to accommodate vessel-specific requirements (e.g., unique materials or specifications).
You will analyze ship stability to determine loading conditions required to perform repairs.
You will analyze construction, repair or modification contracts for structural components or structural systems to determine if they achieve design goals or ensure the safety, economy or efficiency of surface ships.
You will analyze and assess ships, submarines, and structural components concepts for fabrication and cost considerations.
You will formulate technical plans for unusual or non-routine engineering problems.
You will resolve structural architectural issues to support the integration of ship control systems.
You will assess and test structural components and systems to determine material and coating condition, and determine requirements for repairs.
