Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security, and respond to alerts and incidents.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, packet loss, latency, bandwidth, routing, and switching issues.
- Perform network configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and security hardening.
- Manage and troubleshoot Cisco, Palo Alto, FortiGate, or similar networking platforms.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and other network security solutions.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure with a focus on availability, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Administer and scale Kubernetes resources, including pods, services, deployments, and persistent volumes.
- Implement Kubernetes monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Automate configuration management using tools such as Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack.
- Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support disaster recovery procedures and participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational best practices.
Requirements
- 7-8+ years of relevant experience in Network Engineering, DevOps, NOC, or a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
- Hands on experience with network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Git, and Terraform.
- Experience with database technologies such as MS SQL, MySQL, and/or MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and DevOps practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- CKA and/or Linux certifications are preferred.
- CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or CompTIA Network+ certifications are an advantage.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
