Network Administrator

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and interpret system architecture specifications, data models and network diagrams to support the configuration and integration of computer systems.

• Research, assess and monitor network infrastructure to maintain efficient configuration and optimal performance.

• Identify and recommend improvements to network operations, hardware, software, communications and operating systems.

• Diagnose and resolve network faults, connectivity problems and system interruptions, including urgent technical incidents.

• Install, configure, test, maintain and administer networks, network devices, servers, workstations and related software and database applications.

• Develop and maintain network scripts and programming solutions to support business requirements and automate routine administration.

• Maintain network inventories, configuration records, operating procedures and maintenance instructions.

• Document faults, troubleshooting activities, resolutions, upgrades and changes to network infrastructure.

• Monitor network traffic, capacity, utilisation and activity to maintain network integrity and identify performance or security issues

Qualifications and experience

• A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• At least three years of relevant experience in network administration or a closely related role.

• Sound knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP and network security.

• Practical experience administering network infrastructure, servers, workstations and operating systems.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and technical documentation skills.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and support users across the business.
