Your new company

You will join a small Federal Government agency that plays a critical role in protecting Australia from serious threats through intelligence, information sharing and technology-driven capabilities. The agency operates within a complex and highly secure environment and is continuing to invest in modern, resilient and secure enterprise technology services.
In this team, you will work with architects, security specialists, project teams and operational stakeholders to shape the future direction of enterprise networking capabilities across on-premises, cloud-connected and hybrid environments.

Your new role

As a Network Architect, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across the organisation's enterprise network environment.
You will be responsible for defining, governing and evolving network architecture to ensure services are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with organisational objectives.
Working within the Network Operations team, you will translate business, security and technology requirements into network capabilities, architecture patterns, standards and implementation roadmaps.
You will lead the design and implementation of complex network initiatives while providing technical governance and architecture assurance across projects and operational activities.
The role will see you working across a broad range of technologies, including Fortinet security platforms, routing and switching, network security services, load balancing, virtualised networking, cloud networking, LAN, MAN and WAN environments, and network automation technologies including Ansible.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience developing enterprise network architectures within large and complex ICT environments.
• Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise network security architectures, including significant exposure to Fortinet technologies and services.
• Experience leading the design and implementation of complex network solutions across routing, switching, security, load balancing, WAN and cloud-connected environments
• Experience applying Commonwealth security frameworks including the ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, architecture governance and design assurance across multiple initiatives.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences
• The ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance.

Experience with Microsoft Azure networking, network automation, Zero Trust architectures, network segmentation and relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded.
